Challenge #3

Where I Live!

I live in a beautiful place called Port Stephens which is located in NSW Australia. On holidays or during summer you would notice the large amounts of tourists in Port Stephens. They probably visit where I live because of the crystal clear beaches and our Tourist attractions.

There is loads to do, you can go to jazz or wine festivals ,You can go snorkeling and you would love looking at our beautiful fish, there are great beaches wherever you go, When your at Port Stephens you will never get bored.

challenge #2

When I think it is approriate to put photos on your blog.

I think you should be 12 years old and have permission off a parent or guardian before you can put pictures of yourself on the net. If you have permission you shouldn’t put any details or information about yourself because it can be very dangerous putting personal information about yourself on the net. Also you should never put any pictures or information about anyone else without there permission.

In conclusion I think that you should be 12 or over and have permission of a parent or guardian.

Soldiers Point School Fete

On Saturday 11th of September Soldiers Point Public School held the first school fete in 10 years! The fete was huge and covered most of the school and they had to block off the road! The fete had many different stalls running like Tombola Jars, Mystery Bottles, Pony Rides, Face Painting, Hair Spraying, Fairy Floss, Popcorn, Cans of Drink, Cake Stall, Bowling, Plaster and much more. They also had a concert running in the hall and lots of rides outside including jumping castles, bungee jumping, rock climbing, giant jumping castle, slide and flying chairs. The people running the fete were hoping to earn about 20 thousand dollars but when they added everything together it came more! The fete was a huge success and I’m positive that everyone enjoyed their day!

Why my dad should win father of the year!

To win father of the year you have to be kind, good at ccooking and cleaning, helpul and positive! Dads name is Con Melanofridis. He is all of these things plus much much more!

My dad is a wonderful cook, he comes from Greece so all of his food is delicious! He makes stuffed tomatoes and a yummy masarka! When dad cooks it is very helpful for mum!

Like I said before dad comes from Greece and he is teaching me the Greek language. It is a lot of fun learning and someday I hope I can talk greek like him!

Every kid thinks that their dad is the best dad, but my dad really IS the best dad in the whole world!

A Website I Would Recommend!

I searched all over the Internet for a website that I would recommend and there is many to choose from but I found a website full of math problems and skills to use!

The website is http://www.ixl.com/ and it seems like lots of fun to use. You can click what grade you are in, preschool – year 6, and it will take you to a page full of problems and skills.

In the year 6 page it has 251 skills. They are under the topics Whole numbers, Decimal numbers, Integers, Rational numbers, Money, Time, Multiplication, Division, Algebra, Graphing and much more!

I hope you try out the website because there is a wide range of activities to choose from and by the looks of the website you wont get bored!

Dora Creek Camp

On Wednesday the 21st of July at 8:45  most people from stage 3 were waiting at the front gate for 2 buses to arrive so that we could all be taken an hour and a half down the road to Dora creek camp. The buses arrived at 9:00 and everyone hopped on. It was very loud on the bus because everyone had been waiting so long to go on camp. Once we arrived we were told where we were going to sleep and what we would be doing first today. Once we chucked all our things on our chosen beds we raced down the hallway to get ready for our first activity. But before we could get going we had to know who our instructors were. My group got Russel, he was pretty cool! First up we had archery, I could never get my arrow on the yellow dot in the middle of the target. Soon after archery we had lunch, And then we walked down to what looked like two ropes with two bags hanging of them and some huge buckles. Once I realised it was a flying fox I knew that I wouldn’t be going on it because I would fall out of the bag if I had to stand in it and go down the ropes,  But after he explained that you don’t stand in the bag I went on the flying fox.  After the flying fox it was dinner and we had chicken and veggies, and ice cream for dessert. After dinner we all walked down to the hall and had a heap of fun games and a little minute to win it competition with games from the TV show. Then we all walked up to a camp fire with hot chocolates, cookies and marshmallows ready for a scary story!

The next day we had low ropes, high ropes, orienteering and canoeing  which was all very fun! But we were all looking forward to the county fair which happened after dinner. The county fair is where you get given a store to run and you try and sell your product and earn paper money that is counted and you are the winner if you have the most money. My group had massage and we came 2nd!

The next day we had rock climbing and THE GIANT SWING! That was the one that we were all looking forward too! I went all the way to the top and I know if I had have gone half way up the swing I would have regretted it!

Later it was time to go home and we all made our way onto the bus ready for our trip back home.

If  I could, I would talk all day but I have run out of time!

Queensland

When Christmas came me and my sister couldn’t wait to open our present from mum and dad. We were so excited, until we realised all mum held in her hand was a piece of paper! I opened the piece of paper and saw that we were going to Queensland and Movie World, Sea World, and Wet ‘n’ Wild! Me and my sister were so excited. We didnt want to wait two more weeks to go, But the time did finally come and we were in the car, yes the CAR to Queensland. I would have rathered the car because I dont enjoy flying in planes. The car trip took 9 hours but we got to the hotel we were staying in eventually. We got to the hotel late so we couldnt go to a theme park when we arrived but definitly the next day. I woke up the next day very excited, today we were going to Sea World. After a long day at Sea World we were tired and ready for bed again, only to wake up for a day at movie world the next day. At Movie World I was too scared to go on half the rides. After Movie World we were so tired again that we fell asleep as soon as we got into bed. There was only one theme park left, which was Wet ‘n’ Wild. That was the one we were looking forward to the most. I went on all the rides except for one. We had a few days left in Queensland and we mostly spent them at the shops or the beach. I had lots of fun in my holiday to Queensland and hope we can go again!

Natural Disasters

Through the term my class has been learning about natural disaster. I have learnt heaps of things about natural disasters. We have written information reports on natural disasters including earthquakes and plagues. We have also done speeches on natural disasters. In one of the speeches I learnt how HUMANS can be natural disasters because they are causing global warming. Some other natural disasters mentioned were Earthquakes, Avalanches, Tsunamis, Landslides, Tornadoes, Volcanoes and more. I have enjoyed learning about Natural disasters this term and hope to learn more.

Murder under the microscope

Murder under the microscope is excellent fun. Anybody can join in and our class is lucky enough to be involved. If you are wondering what murder under the microscope is, it is a fun investigation where you research the victims, villains and crime sites that are given for you to research. Already I have learnt a heap of things about the different crime sites, villains and victims. We think we are heading in the right direction with our clues, but I remember from last year we were so sure it was the butterfly but then the last clue came in and we ended up with the blue banded bee. This year has been a fun investigation so far and it keeps getting better!
